Bougainville College of Nursing

Bougainville College of Nursing (BCON), formerly Arawa School of Nursing, is located in Arawa, Central Bougainville, Papua New Guinea. Established in 1980, the institution was closed and destroyed in 1989 during the Bougainville crisis and re-established in 2016 under Celyn Tusalah. Its Diploma in General Nursing is a three-year, full-time program spanning six semesters, with nursing theory, clinical laboratory training and supervised clinical placements. Graduates are eligible to apply for registration with the PNG Nursing Council. The college reports initial accreditation in 2016 and full accreditation in 2023. An affiliation agreement with Divine Word University was signed on 3 December 2025. Facilities include nursing laboratories, lecture rooms, dormitories, an e-library and a computer laboratory.
