James Cook University (JCU) is dedicated to addressing the issues of Northern Australia and the Tropics worldwide. Its Townsville campus sits within a tropical health and knowledge precinct, with other campuses in Cairns, Brisbane and Singapore. JCU offers undergraduate and postgraduate study alongside research addressing global challenges, including work in marine science, tropical medicine, tourism and biodiversity. Students can access international exchange and short study experiences through JCU Global Experience. On-campus residences provide academic and wellbeing support and social activities, while the university also provides information about off-campus and short-stay accommodation.

Fees and funding depend on student type and course. Tuition fees and a separate Student Services and Amenities Fee apply each Study Period or Trimester. Eligible students may defer fees through HELP.
