Founded in 1460, the University of Basel is Switzerland's oldest university and a leading public research institution. Located in Basel (canton of Basel-City), it offers over 50 Bachelor's and 86 Master's programs across disciplines including medicine, natural sciences, humanities, social sciences, law, economics, and theology. PhD programs are available across all faculties. The university is part of Eucor – The European Campus and the EPICUR alliance. It holds institutional accreditation from the Swiss Agency of Accreditation and Quality Assurance (AAQ), valid until 22 September 2029. The Student Administration Office is located at Petersplatz 1, 4001 Basel.

Tuition fees are charged per semester in CHF. The current fee schedule is published on the official Tuition Fees page at unibas.ch. Fees apply equally to domestic and international students. An application fee is also charged.
