University of Theatre and Film Arts

The University of Theatre and Film Arts Budapest (SZFE/UTFA), established on 2 January 1865, is Hungary's only higher education institution with university status offering degrees exclusively for theatre, film, and television professionals. In 2020 it was transformed into a foundation-maintained private university under Act LXXII of 2020, under the auspices of the Foundation for Theatre and Film Arts. The university operates three institutes — the Sinkovits Imre Institute of Theatre Arts, the Zsigmond Vilmos Institute of Cinematic Arts, and the Németh Antal Institute of Drama Theory — as well as a Doctoral School. Its main campus is at Rákóczi út 21., Budapest.
