Overview
Metanoia Institute is a well-established educational charity based in Ealing, London, specialising in professional training for counsellors, psychotherapists, counselling psychologists, supervisors, coaches and organisational development consultants. Founded in the early 1980s (operating since 1984), it was among the first organisations in the UK to offer humanistically oriented professional training programmes. The Institute brings together five leading psychotherapy traditions—Humanistic, Person-Centred, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, and Integrative—within one shared professional environment. Its degree programmes are validated by Middlesex University while the Institute pursues its own Degree Awarding Powers. Professional qualifications are accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). The Institute operates from two sites in Ealing, West London, and offers part-time, blended and hybrid learning to accommodate professional and personal commitments.
